Personal Growth, Redemption, Reflections

Redemption is not simply being fixed or all wrongs righted or the erasing of mistakes.  It is far more glorious than that.  God’s redeeming of a life is taking the brokenness, the mess, the wrong of it all, and making it beautiful.  He does not replace; He transforms. As miraculous as changing water into wine,  He gives beauty for ashes.

Isaiah 61:3

(I have come) To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

  1. Thank you for your very real and transparent words today at the GHC. They were deep and meaningful to me. I love what you wrote above as well. I don’t want Him to replace my bad behavior with good but to completely transform me. Then the beauty will come. I anxiously await it.
